WARNINGS / OPT-OUT

Castiel's canon contains depictions of: Violence, torture, death, murder, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, brainwashing, depression, PTSD, drug usage, cannibalism, and demonic and angelic possession.

Castiel is an angel and must inhabit a human vessel in order to interact with human beings. The original occupant of his vessel (Jimmy Novak) is dead, which means his body essentially a puppeted corpse, and this is something that tends to come up in conversation about angels.

Castiel himself struggles with regular thoughts of suicide, self-harm, body image issues, low self-esteem, PTSD and depression, and has experienced parental abandonment, brainwashing, long term captive situations, domestic abuse, physical and emotional abuse, violence, bodily mutilation (his wings are burnt down to the bone), severe violations of his personal autonomy, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation. All of these topics have a possibility to come up in his tag meta or to be discussed. POWERS OPT-IN

castiel is able to sense unwarded individuals anywhere in the world. this has been heavily nerfed in diadem, and almost never works.

castiel can heal both acute and chronic conditions. he heals fatal wounds on several occasions, and also at one point heals charlie's carpal tunnel. he won't do the latter unless he's asked.

castiel has a superhuman sense of smell, which allows him (among other things) to pick up on certain medical conditions, tell where someone has been, what they've recently ate, etc. i can recall of only one time that he actively makes use of this— normally it's something that he ignores about people.

castiel also has a supernatural sense of "sight" that allows him to see the true faces of demons, etc. more powerful supernatural creatures can block themselves from detection.

castiel seems to have at least two modes of telepathy, which includes being able to skim thoughts and memories from the top of someone's mind, and also being able to deliberately dive deep and fish out specific memories with only vague criteria (he was able to discover the one "thing" rowena ever loved, which was something even rowena herself had forgotten, by forcing his way into her mind and searching for it.)
